Now I have a set of 700C road wheels that I can swap on the Tripster, I'll probably leave the more heavy duty, knobbier tyres on the 650B wheels because they'll be for proper off-road stuff and not much road. That's why I bought a set of 50mm X'plor tyres - heavy weight for less fuss when touring off-road in Scotland.
The missus used an Ultrabite up front and WTB um Raddler rear (700C though). The WTB flatted early but both held on for the ATM trip and she didn't report any issues. I like the look of the Ultrabite so I'd like at that for myself for off-road stuff. But I've got enough tyres to last a while now.
Schwalbe seem to have the best fitting tyres, so their setup usually seems easier than others.
Can you get the GK+ for 650B? They're a prick to fit but were fine for Badlands. Relatively soft casing so at least should be pretty quick and even knobs so predictable.
