I guess we should expect a double to 200k by Monday.
From memory I heard something along the lines of Delta holding steady at ~55k cases per day.
That "only" gives Omicron ~35k cases. Delta holding steady and Omnicron quadrupling every 5 days would mean ~200k cases on the https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/ site on Wednesday 22nd.

Swear I heard Whitty dropping the projected million by Friday?

@greenhell what on earth is wrong with your head? At least be civil on this forum.

So much this

expect numbers to plateau soon, not due to measures but a limit to testing capacity!?
and we test and sequence a lot in the U.K. though not up to Denmark standard but more per head than most countries.funny how omicron is rampant in UK and Denmark, wonder why?...

Yep - and people not wanting to test/register so christmas doesn't get fucked.

First toke on some Orient Gene's tonight
excellent name for an indica-dominant hybrid

Testing capacity will probably get hit with the testers themselves going positive too. NHS frontline staff have just had a shift in isolation guidance after contacts to try to keep them at work with constant testing rather than automatic isolation.

I'm in a similar boat, to be fair, I had them down as a troll given that it was a brand new account on a relatively niche forum, and only talked about something that had nothing to do with that niche. Hence being interested in why they signed up. Given the lack of answer I figured my assumption that they were a troll was right. Obviously I could be wrong in that assumption, but nothing that I've seen gives any weight to that option.
I agree that it's useful to engage with people like this to get an understanding of how they come to hold their views though.

no way he said that, cant tell if you're trolling

I think I’m gonna not visit my parents for the two holiday I’ll have (25 and 26th), as I’m still working customer base job.

Kicking myself for not buying a couple of LFTs when they were being dumped for €0,70. They’re sold out everywhere except for a couple of price gouging webshops. We want to at least self test before heading home for Christmas next week.

Limiting healthcare becomes a sad fact when the hospitals are full.
One of my co workers died a few months ago. He had been sent to an ICU 2000km away because all the ones here were full. Died alone, far from home. -

That’s what I’m thinking, some people would rather not know, it’s a shitty way to spend well earned annual leave, especially at Christmas.

100 London ambulances out of action due to so many staff off with covid, grim

willing to bet its usual tabloid bollocks taking stuff out of context
my guess, if you can find the source of the quote is it will be illustrating how quick the doubling time of Omicron is and how small number of cases can grow so rapidly.
"20k becomes 40k in 5 days which then means it could get to 1mil by x date, to give you an idea of how fast the exponential growth is, however that is unlikely to reach that peak "
my guess..

Will my booster yesterday cause me to show positive if I take an LFT today?
I’ve woken up feeling exactly like I did when I had Covid - way worse than any vaccine has left me.
-
• #24873
No. The vaccines don't do that. If you take an LFD test and it's positive, you very probably have Covid.

I have tinnitus that appeared after having covid 12 months ago and it hasn't gone away.
Really sorry about your condition, that must be maddening. If you don't mind sharing, is your tinnitus the result of damage from inflammation from the virus or is it an immune system reaction? Have you been offered any sort of prognosis?

Not sure.
My wife has had shivers last 2 nights due to pfizer booster.
Negative PCR beforehand.
Do you ever stop to think that other people might have challenging circumstances when you dispense your serial unpleasantness, open misanthropy, and rank bile? I agree, let’s all be kinder.
