If you're not French (or don't have a French partner) then you need a compelling reason. Tourism or business is not a 'compelling reason'.
I'd expect them to be wise to people arriving from alternative routes (e.g. Netherlands and then Switzerland). Especially if you're using a UK passport.

You also need a PCR test to get into Switzerland, regardless of vaccination status

Hive mind of AQA: I am due to spend the New Year in the French Alps. I'll fly from the UK to Amsterdam, before taking a connecting flight to Geneva and then being picked up and driving across the border into France.
