Lockdown imminent then...

Low in young. Something like 50% in older folk. I think boosters is much less than 50%. Almost everybody got Delta in their terrible last wave so Gauteng overall has higher level of natural immunity than most places in the world.

Is the test positivity 100%?

I guess our only hope is that vax immunity/harm reduction > natural immunity/harm reduction... š¬

Pretty sure I had it in March 2020. Then got double jabbed (2nd in May) and had it late September. There seem to be plenty of people who've had it twice in the form of the OG variant then Delta.
I'm obviously hoping that Delta a few months ago plus booster = no omicron.
This
a colleague has caught covid for the third time
Would be really shit.

Anyone across the Omicron came from mice theory?

No, last time I saw a figure it was about 25%. No idea how much it has changed.
The charts I posted are percentages compared to Delta wave rather than overall percentage.

man who wrote shitty newspaper columns for a living before failing upwards to the highest position in the land knows more than entire scientific community about how to best handle a potentially disastrous global pandemic.

If the elected MP is embarrassed (and this is pretty much what this comes down to, isn't it?) that the expert they gave platform to isn't on-message, maybe they should look at the message?

Canada has a federal vax mandate. People claiming exemptions could work until their case was reviewed, as long as they self tested.
Today one was told his exemption was denied. Heās a nice guy but a religious nut.
Got walked out.
A second one has been claiming to self test. He has also told several that he isnāt. He says he put the probe in some jam (the kind you eat) and it showed positive. Therefore the tests are āall bullshitā and he will just say he tested negative.
So thatās a huge failure- the self tests are dependent on the honesty of the person.
We need a third party tester on site. -

And yet in the UK you can use a negative LFT you did at home for admission to that big event you have been looking forward to for ages and can't get a refund for.

Smart money in the newsrooms this afternoon was on a short lockdown once Christmas and the Boxing Day sales are out of the way, so New Years Eve will be cancelled.
The underground and West End were very quiet today compared to recent weeks.

Do we know what the vax situation is in Gauteng?
