You could do worse than starting with a set of these in the kitchen draw. They will always be useful.

A set like that is hard to beat IMO. The tips are better than bit sets IME.

The Bahco mini ratchet set is great. But it’s a lot less handy if you don’t have a screwdriver handle to go with it.
