• We have four (all mine!) 3, 5, 7 and 9. The rear ones are ok for smaller ones but a pain if you have strap them in or assist with seatbelts. Not much room between them and rear if there is a rear shunt either

  • Interesting, thank you, would probably be shoving the 4 and 6 years old back there, they can both do their own seat belts. To be fair 80% of journeys will be just with 2 kids, and just needing boot space ( can shove the 2 dogs in easily).

  • @sam_w IRT cars with the 3rd row which fold down into the boot, the only thing I'd be concious of is lack of airbags. Dedicated 7 seaters, like a Sharan, will likely have airbags positioned back there. In the rare occasion we ferry more than 4 passengers, we stick adults in the fold-up 3rd row of our Touran.
