Sorry for the semi-serious post, but it seems like the thread collectively has The Knowledge™.
Any SPD shoe recommendations for mixed-surface 2-3 day tours that would also be capable of some light hiking? Assuming more MTB-type things would be the best bet. I have found Giro Rumble that seem fit the bill, but they are a bit ugly, and assume there are loads of other options out there.

Really like this.
Reminds me of when I had my first few cross bikes like 7 years ago and rode every thing and every where on them...
They're not far of the one bike that can do most kinda bikes

Yay. Only rode it casually for 100km on and off road but I am super impressed by the weight, speed and acceleration. With roadie gearing and 33mm terreno mix tyres it is not far off my road bike.

I used to do all my winter training on the front bike. 2 x 11 with a cx double. The race bike with carbon tubs was the really fun one though .

I have a GT Edge CX from Team Saturn sitting in the attic waiting for me to find time to build some forks for it and swap chainstays.

HHSGB are pre 2015 CX bikes
Looks like Strade Bianche to me. 700x28s, 50mm deeps and an aero frame required. Not gravel.
