• I'm not sure what the setup is, if this is part of an agreement with the EU they cannot disband it without pissing pretty much all EU countries off.

It's just nonsense pre-settled status won't convert to settled automatically.

They can already take it off you anyway for convictions with a long prison sentence.

Which you can fight in court if you have family but Raab will put an end to that probably... (Which I suppose also affects non EU ILR rights?)

  • part of an agreement with the EU

Breaking agreements doesn't seem to bother this bunch as much as it should.

And even if they lose, they will hide behind the unelected bureaucrats and interfering goody-two-shoes lawyers arguments again, rather than face up to being a complete shower of self-serving shits who are stoking the fires of unwarranted prejudice to further their own nefarious ends.

  • That is true, but the UK court system is still, as a whole I think, fair. (for general law cases like this, if you can afford all the fees etc...)
The stupidly high fee to naturalize kids to British (over £1000!!!) was judged unfair.

Of course they may kick the implementation of it in the long grass!

"rather than face up to being a complete shower of self-serving shits who are stoking the fires of unwarranted prejudice to further their own nefarious ends." hai, current tory politics!

It's in a way just dumb, the Tory supporting press could spin things to a "hey were are a liberal and tolerant society we are going to be kind!" and they still win, but perhaps it's always been about fear/anger/division and that can only go one way...
