2021-12-15 Rider Down: Woolwich Road/Denham Street, SE10

Female rider hit by a lorry driver turning right into Denham Street from Woolwich Road.

That is a poorly designed junction, most drivers cut across the cycle lane without checking for bikes. In their defence, it is not obvious that they should have to. Certainly needs better signage.

Very poor junction indeed. The bollards that have been installed were regularly replaced as drivers hit them when making the right turn into Denham Street. This replacement hasn't been happening recently.

With hindsight, I have removed my comments on the severity of the incident from the first post. @andyo, I suggest you do the same. I am not a medical professional and shouldn't pass comment until we know more information with certainty.

I've just had a look and there doesn't seem to be anything on-line yet. I agree that the design there is bad, but that sort of discussion should take place elsewhere. Fingers crossed for her.
