A mouse in the house

I think the smell of our cat is why we've never had the mice in, even though he has been dead for over a year!

Ok, that makes it sound like we've got a cat corpse in the flat. That isn't what I mean.

When I was a kid Bristol zoo used to sell tiger shit for people to put in their gardens to scare of other cats and animals. Maybe that’s what you need.

Haha, what? Amazing. I'd buy some tiger shit! Not because I have mice in the loft but, you know, just because.

Mum and dad were getting scrabbly noises in the morning and evening, so put a stack of rat poison out.
Neighbours also had done the same, and had pest control out.

Turns out the recluse/hoarder on top floor of the neighbouring flats had pet rats and would let them out in the morning and evening for a roam...

Just popped my head in to the loft space...
1 x poison tray upended as "something" must have jumped in it. Looked at another one and a fair amount of the pellets had been scoffed by "something".
The ratboy/man is coming back on the 20th so will see if anything has carked it then unless we can smell it first.

Rat operative is visiting again today as we are still getting no peace from the scummy vermin...

Just had one dead, one trapped by tail, released.

We need to block the hole. I've got wire wool & team lotto soudal insulation foam to do this but the safety data sheet says the latter is carcinogenic - I can't determine if that's in it's liquid spray form or also once set. Don't want to make the kitchen any more of a health hazard.

In our news we lifted 2 old drain covers in front of the house and found rat droppings in one of them. More poison laid , Wessex water coming out to check the sewers this week hopefully...

I have yet to meet anyone who has had cancer who hasn’t dabbled with water at some point. Drinking or washing with water clearly gives you cancer.

I heard somewhere that cancer is 40% water. Makes sense.

At least he has the decency to kill them first.

Living is 100% fatal.

In other news I’m stepping it up a level...
Digging out soil from the front of the house and finding rat burrows and collapsed pipes - chucked a load of baking soda down the hole so they will blow up.
Tonight I’m putting a high powered torch in the loft on the strobe/seizure inducing mode to give them a party atmosphere.
Might also play some Gabber on a wireless speaker up there too...

a rat outside the house ?

this fella has been plaguing ( no pun intended ) the garden for the last 9 months or so, the local neighbourhood cat(s) or the fox finally saw it off last night,
hopefully something will eat it in the coming 24hrs

looks to be in a very rudimentary scrape, maybe the fox was digging a hole for it, hope it doesn't bury it and just consumes it quickly and messlessly

I just took a quick look at the safety sheet and my interpretation is:

1) There isn't strong evidence that it is carcinogenic, more a supsicion.
2) The (theoretical) threat is from inhalation before it is set.
3) Data sheet says that you should wear an appropriate mask if you plan to breath the fumes for more than 8 hours.

In other words, sounds pretty safe to me.
