  • Can anyone recommend a good dandruff shampoo?
I am very dry, flake in the wind, its very embarrassing.
    Cheers.

  • For years I had issues with the area around my beard especially. I don’t know for sure what it was (every doctor I’ve had suffers from a severe form of uninterestedness) but it was definitely related to dandruff. I went the wrong way for a long time, using a variety of oily medications to rehydrate my “dry” skin. Turns out the thing that really worked for me was an acne cream that was sulphur based. Started with Clearasil until they changed their formula and now have used Acnomel. Both were at about 8% sulphur, and I ended up using them about 2-3 times a week.
    Works for me.

  • Alpecin

  • If you want an actual shampoo then I use https://uk.davines.com/products/purifying-shampoo
and its the only shampoo that has ever made any difference to my dandruff. Not cheap and sometimes hard to find in stock, I think last time I had to get it off Amazon at £60 for 1000ml.

  • Neutrogena T/Gel. Generally the coal tar one. But I used to alternate between the dry scalp one.

Boots will sometimes h@ve a deal on them.

Now my kids use Johnson's no more tears, I often use that first as it's so mild, and cheaper than doing two washes with the Neutrogena.

Also it might be worth working out what type of dandruff you have. Iirc there are 3 types. Have a search.
