Winter gloves

well i have been out with them this morning for an hour, probably 1 or 2 degrees and i did get cold. but i know i would have been just as cold in proper winter ones, because it is humid enough. they are definitly not 4 seasons, but a very good 3 in my experience

Nice! Good to hear they help with your reynauds. Yours look a lot fancier than mine (no zips or cuffs). A friend told me I should start selling them with how many people I've recommened them to.

Does these work well with touchscreens?

Not sure if repost, but a friend recently put me on to some Japanese fishing gloves that are becoming popular amongst mountaineers. Could be just the job for soggy but cold days in the UK.

Upthread, or elsewhere, you have recommended the Montane Prism glove.
I bought pair of the Galibiers also recommended on this thread last year.
after suffering on rides leading to a (non-Rapha) Festive 500 with @NorthLondonLight.

The Galibiers are good, but I still had some cold thumbs when restarting rides after a stop.

Rode up to Cotswold Outdoors in Watford this pm.
The only pair of Montane Prisms in XL had a seam in the lining across the right thumb pad.
Next door on the display was a pair of Prism Dry Line, without the above demerit.

Wore them home. Like cycling without gloves on, but hands were suitably warm.

Has anyone found these exact ones for sale? I can’t find the -02 model with the drawstring which I imagine you need to keep rain out

Interested to hear what you think of them.
They are the opposite of all the other Winter gloves/gauntlets:
so light they don't seem to even be there.

25 miles in today.
Hands oddly not even clammily warm.
These gloves just don't seem to be there, but, do ward off the windchill.

I found the 02 model (I'm based in Canada), but I wouldn't say it's a dealbreaker.

My winter MTB gloves are so full of holes they're more mitt than glove, so I was just going to impulse buy some winter gloves. I have lobsters but I want 'all finger' gloves for mbt and garvel riding in cold and wet.

We got some of these in at work recently, seem really good for the price, considering swapping my nice Montane polartec ones for them as they're similar but have a few extra bikey designs that make them nicer, thicker fleece on the backs of palms, nicer shape with closed hands, seams out the way and re-enforced bit between the thumb and index finger.

Neat. I'll keep them in mind.

Had another think and I could just use my RAB gloves over mitts and look for more durable gloves, like with toughened backs of fingers for when you wack freezing knuckles into tree branches.

Yeah, not much protection on those for punching trees but in winter I think I'd rather have warm hands.

The Black Diamond ice climbing gloves have knuckle protection (and cool names). The Punisher is warm with primaloft and the Terminator is thinsulate (i think). The gf has been using the old version of the punisher, which has even more finger protection, on super cold days recently and likes them. They also have a predefined curve for gripping the handlebar (or ice axe).

Saying that, my all time favourite very cold day glove is the Specialized Radiant, which i've had for years. They have 100g Thinsulate. Sadly my pair is falling apart and they don't do them anymore :(

Yeah would be hard to overlap with arms unless you have quite a long-arm jacket.

But then, how often are my wrists the cold thing I'm complaining about? Not very. Fingers are the big deal.

I got some Spatz Thermo gloves it hasn't been very cold yet but I used them for a 2.5h ride at around 2°C and was never cold. The skin on my hands was all shrivelled up after the ride though because they keep all the moisture in.

Shame about their parent company manufacturing tear gas, rubber bullets and such.
