Sorry, who cheated? Max or Lewis, Redbull or Mercedes?
I'm not sure the ref. can cheat - they are officiating, not playing. They can influence / manipulate I guess, but the players still have to do their thing. Had Mercedes had the balls to cover the VSC pit stop, Lewis would be champion.
I do think they way it was handled was...not great, but did you hear the roar of the crowd when Max overtook Lewis - that was beautiful.

The FIA.
They overwrote the established rules in several places in order to manufacture a different result.
LH led the race for 57 of 58 laps, the rules should have had the race end under a safety car.
Let’s also not forget that the FIA cheated the remaining racers behind MV out of final place shifts by only allowing those between the two past.
I understand (sort of) that people don’t want LH to win but being happy with this result knowing it was manufactured is fucking mystifying.

Fair enough if Verstappen managed to overtake the lapped cars and Lewis on that final lap but the FIA literally broke the rules to manufacture that chance.
