does it have lots of steerer, and i mean, lots of steerer
Yep
(sorry, no) -

@Maj you are better than 1 inch headsets. Life doesn't have to be like that.
However, I understand your brief better now, thank you for cascading the slide deck. I can see why you were leaning towards the mono now - although it's only 32 without guards. I think what you want is also what I in a dream world want: a straight tt nippy and fun track bike but without punishing track geo that also takes up to 32 tyres. I can only think of Brother All Day or maybe a 2019 or 2020 Bombtrack Arise that fits the client's request

Could you please elaborate on what makes 1" headsets problematic? I am going to need references to scientific articles..
-
• #1907
1" headtube is a lifestyle choice on the lines of homeopathy or essential oils
-
• #1908
It seems to go well with Maj's other life choices I think. It is not like 1 1/8" is the future...
-
• #1909
In general nicer, more widely available forks are in 1 1/8 (carbon), and the cascading effect of 1 1/8 to other headsets, replacement bearings, clamp diameter of stems and bars mean that 1 inch stuff is restrictive and I think turns one into crate digger for older but not necessarily nicer looking or better functioning stuff.
@Maj wants steel forks and that is their human right - a human right that I respect - but one that I absolutely, 100% do not understand :)

Spacers arent wrong -SPACER SHAMING IS WRONG
Did lol
Spacer Justice Warrior :D

100% do not understand
Me neither. But Maj is on rim brakes etc. No reason a 1" aheadset and shims to modern components should be problematic.
-
• #1912
A shim is an admission that someone lacks the courage of their convictions. Like when people cut a donut in half and try and save the rest for later.
^ that makes no sense but someone in the office today cut a donut in half and left it in the box and it's kind of upset me but it may be because I'm hungover
-
• #1913
Which is why you should always keep a big stack of spacers above your stem for donut holding purposes

oh no bike of mine has mudguards, if it was raining i'd simply not ride.
@amey, thank you, yes, lovely job
i am torn between the audax and the audax mono for just a road bike build, it all depends if @merle sells me the pacer she so adamantly hates, i thought i was close to breakthrough but then she asked to try my nitto swept bars on it. like a mug i conceded, so will be more fannying about and less me getting tha pacer. being cucked.
@youramericanlover @Hulsroy just love a steel fork, they look nice, ride nice, carbon ones look a bit wank and the ones im riding are ovrly firm and not very enjoyable, it's an old wives tale to think carbon will shater into a million pieces, but i would be lying if i dont flinch when i clumisly smack it off stuff.

• #1915
Why cantis on this, out of interest?
-
• #1916
Well, because they were pink. Also I had them already and I am quite capable of making them brake properly and they allow for mudguards and big tyres. But I am not insane and now have only disc brake bikes.

I’m simply stuck with the langster…the cheugy langster
Ah, cheugy, the first occurrence I've seen in any UK media of this 'word of the year'

Paddy wagons are sick and kona are boss.
Seen a few grand wagons on ebay recently but non in my size...
-
• #1919
Is that fellow wearing a suit?
It’s giving me weird “Wish You Were Here” vibes...
-
• #1920
Grand Wagons are nice but 1) try to find a decent build and 2) it shares geometry with the more-track, less-slack (by Kona standards) Bandwagon
wtf is this
-
• #1921
I really like these bikes. Not ugly, compact geo and 32mm tyres whilst everyone was excited about NJS, lopros and dildo bars.
-
• #1922
I like the forks on those Konas and the frames are alright
if unremarkableno actually, what the fuck is the angle of the track ends about?!That seems like a particularly heinous build, bars, chain and wheels all need to >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
-
• #1923
angle of the track ends about?!
-
• #1924
what the fuck is the angle of the track ends about?!
supposed to keep the brake pads at the rim without adjustment as you move the wheel back.
-
• #1925
what the fuck is the angle of the track ends about?!
Yeah they look stupid and very different from the Paddy's
this is a v juicy bike
