so the big question is whether my wife and I pick it up off her or whether our double jabs give enough protection

Both my daughters have had it, both my wife and I have avoided it.

It seems some people spread and some don't. Makes no sense to me.

Yes, it has been working its way through the school, and it seems to be 50/50 if the parents get it.
Did your daughters have any symptoms? Wondering if that has an effect, my daughter currently has zero symptoms.

Some symptoms, fairly mild.
