  • Is it illegal to use your phone when parked in a car?

And on the hands free - their current car definitely would have come with it. Idk about their old Mazda 3, 50/50 is my guess. Plus phones have speakers.

It's just easier to tap a horn than have the inconvenience of a brief wait or to dial a number. And they haven't considered that hooting outside one house is actually hooting outside 14 other people's homes who may not like it.

  • Is it illegal to use your phone when parked in a car?

Probably, it is a bit of a grey area. For example it is illegal to unlock your phone and pay for your drive through McDonald's. You are probably breaking the law if the engine is running (/on for EVs and cars with stop/start).

  • A friend of mine was recently given the points or course choice after unlocking his phone in stationary traffic on the M11. Fair, bang to rights....but surprising to some.

Would it still be illegal to unlock your phone to use the McDonalds app on private land? Didn't think road law would apply to a McDonald's forecourt.
