I am looking for a 650b + 20" tyre combo.
My Maxxis Refuse 650b X 50mm is slightly too big. It measures 55mm on my rims and just touches the mudguards when climbing out of the saddle.
Front tyre is fine could be smaller no problem. Here seen with 26x2.4" rear tyre. Which looks cool but mudguards are not wide enough.

Ideally I get a 650x47mm rear tyre and 20x2.2" front tyre...that matches. Any suggestions?
Uhh and it needs to be in stock

Matching tyres is a tough one in those sizes. Schwalbe do the Big Ben in 2" rear and 2.15" front, but by mixing models you'll find better tyres IMHO.
Have you thought about the kiddo carrying set-up yet, post klapvogn seat on top?

It doesn't have to be matching I guess but would be nice if someone did a set.
Speaking about sets. My wife is making us another child! This means the current seat (converted stroller thingy) stays on the front. New child will go there and older child gets a seat on the top tube between my legs with a foot rest on the steering column.

Awesome! congrats!
I see more tiny bikes in your framebuilding future. -

Thanks. It is quite children focused these days. But that's a natural direction given the situation with my knee and all.
If you stay around long enough you will find me doing ebikes and recumbents as well :)
Anyways, I bought a new rear tyre. Maxxis DTR-1 which is 47mm and keeping in the current front tyre because that is actually not worn at all

You are all sorted now but Conti do the contact urban in various sizes. Should be available in 650b and deffo available in 20â.
I used a posca pen to tone the branding down a bit and they look a bit cooler. theyâre lightweight with decent puncture protection.

Nice. I'll note them down for next time. New rear was like ÂŁ25 so not a massive spending

given the situation with my knee and all
What's going on with that?

Well, MR scan revealed a plica, a baker cyste and some cartelidge damage. I met with a sport Physiotherapist last month and since then I am going to the gym three times a week and besides doing a core program @Simba designed for me, I train my leg muscles using an occlusion pump. The phys is reviewing the situation again sometime in December or January and the we make a plan according to the gains achieved. I have been super positive about the training actually, but this week the knee has sort of become a bit more painful again. But then I just went to gym right now and it feels better again. So I don't know really. Doesn't feel like I can push the pedals hard right now but on the other hand I can see that I am consistently pushing more watts on the step circle training machine thingy than when I started

Oh man. Hope progress continues and you get back to riding. I managed to knock my knee cap onto my chain ring two weeks ago and my tendons and everything is angry at me proper. Haven't been riding much since. Seeing the sports doc on Tuesday, see what he says.
Ironically I already had the knee pads at home ... Just didn't wear them :/

Thanks man. Hope you manage to get back riding soon

Speaking life. It constantly gets in the way ay?
I am nowhere near completing the tiny pedal bike before Christmas. Newest spanner in the works is that I found some sick af tyres. I am going to have to make new forks if I wanna run these...

Huge ! 2,25", I donât even have that big on my bullitt !
Too bad it doesnât go through the fork... youâre going to get the dropouts a second time ? -
• #5223
I think I am keeping the forks and the smaller tyres for now, then build some segmented forks at a later point. Everything is coming together nicely and angles have ended up pretty sweet I think.
Got the brake tabs guilded onto the frame. Fingers crossed it fits đ¤Ł

Got an axle for the tiny cranks.
Cut it out of a tatty Tiagra chainset. Removed the drive side spline on the large. I will have to keep a bit of the spline on the NDS. But I think it will work with the clamp idea I am going with.
This was the cheapest and easiest way to get a relatively light 24mm axle.

I found some time the other night to mount the front mudguards on my cargo bike. I was running plastic front guard before because the hardware I did for the rear mudguard took a very long time to make. This new stainless sheet version was very easy to do and feels mega sturdy. Rod is custom bend 6mm stainless. Also mounted a cheap AliExpress dynamo light. Excited to see how that works out.
