Can you not do something less involved like magic gear with a half link or filed dropouts or a more expensive option in ENO hub rear wheel or just use a tensioner? SS without needing a framebuilder and reversible (maybe don't lengthen the dropouts).
I've used a tensioner many times and its been fine to be honest but I like the idea of "once you've done this you can't go back" situations...
If you have a ENO rear hub for cheap I'll listen...
I owned one many years ago and sold it BNIB, soz.
I'm the opposite. I leave stuff as 'unfucked' as possible, ie. I don't cut seatposts, the steerer on the Shiv is still too long, etc
