I really want a ssmtb in my life...

I may get a frame builder to put as dropouts on my 1997 spesh rockhopper...

Can you not do something less involved like magic gear with a half link or filed dropouts or a more expensive option in ENO hub rear wheel or just use a tensioner? SS without needing a framebuilder and reversible (maybe don't lengthen the dropouts).
