  • I am N Irish without the Dutch connection 😁

  • Yeah.

    Pick of the bunch imo.

  • Heyyyyy! Forgot about me? :D

  • Hi chum. Hope you are keeping well. Bit chilly for the Duke though. Have a great Christmas.

  • All good mate thanks, I was more referring to that "Dutch connection" you claimed you didn't have haha.

Duc is in the garage, not coming out any time soon! Hope you and the family have a lovely Christmas as well.

Very polite Dutch. Nnow chuck in some northern Irish swear words! You're almost there!

  • Can Regal or Inchpincher remind us why the SLA043J1 is bad buy so that I don't get one that's going "cheap". Ta.

  • I personally don't like the light blue painted seconds hand, I think it cheapens the 62MAS design. And the blue dial also looks cheaper to me than the very nice grey-blue of the SLA037. But as a watch, it's basically the same as the SLA017 so if the colourway works for you then go for it. Couple of very minor differences - the crown has the Seiko logo recessed rather than embossed and the rubber straps (you get two with the 043, blue and black) have a slightly nicer pin buckle than the o17 had.

You don't get the steel bracelet that came with the 017 but it was crap anyway and infamously has a tendency to scratch the case.

  • Tools this morning, company “Cheese and Wine” party this afternoon might change watch for that or might need 200m water resistance depending how it goes.

I don't mind the hand, but then I did think the dial isn't up to the same standard as the SLA037.

The case is brushed too, whereas on the 17 and 37 its a polished / brushed mixture IIRC.

I think it's a bit of a confused watch when compared to the 17 and 37 - but objectively quite nice. But then I can't stretch to what people want for a used 17 or 37.

I should probably just go without.

  • Found this watch in a draw, replaced the battery and fitted a stretchy "gold" strap.

  • Oh, I hadn't clocked that the case flanks are brushed on the 043. Yeah, they're mirror polished on the 017/037. The circular brushing on the top looks the same though.

  • why the SLA043J1 is bad buy

    Cos it's a £4k Seiko?

  • Bought this yesterday in tk maxx.

  • I Am not entirely convinced by the dial , but the case is nice size . And it has snoopy on it , so had to bought .
They had another in Covent garden tk if anyone fancies , a nice timed chrono also that I was tempted by.

  • Looks good - snoopy cannot be denied!

  • Given the Seamaster a week off & been wearing this, haven't worn it in ages!
