• ANECDATA ALERT: I had two Pfizer and now waiting for my booster. First one, arm was sore for a week. I partly blamed it on possibly tensing my arm at the point of jab, and then had to cycle back across Richmond Park, including a decent hill, on the fixed gear - so a fair bit of winching/arm tensing required to get up the hill.

For my next jab, which was just down the road, I consciously tried to relax my arm as much as possible, and then gently pedalled home one handed, with the jabbed arm hanging as loosely as possible. Seemed to work, as had no ongoing pain.

TLDR - My advice based on sample of 1 - Try to relax and not use your arm for the rest of the day to avoid soreness.

  • Hah, I had the exact opposite: sore arm with the first fizzle jab, tried to keep it minimal use and relaxed and it hurt like hell for a week or so. Mentioned the arm pain when having the second and the jabber said “try to use the arm as much as possible, it helps it go away quicker” so I consciously used it as much as I could and it stopped hurting after a day or so.

  • so I consciously used it as much as I could

    I bet

  • Ah - Sounds like we're in government with this clear advice on post jab behaviour.

  • I done a 2.25km swimming race the day after my first jab and a 3.6km swimming race the day after my second jab, arm was a bit sore but didn’t stop me from coming 2nd overall in the latter of that two.
