Not got any useful info myself, but looking forward to seeing where you go with it. Think the common complaint is that a few of them have plastic gearboxes, not sure if there are more durable options though. What grinder have you got? Not sure if there's a decent upgrade out there for my Sette, thankfully it seems to be holding up fine so far.

I did a bit of searching on this thread but could not find an answer - has anyone done the gearbox upgrade to their Baratza grinder? Not that I am having any issues with the current setup but wondered what the benefits were.
