I think she likes the floor heating.

It's a year today since a ratty, grey, miserable cat showed up on my friend's balcony. This poor hungry thing came to live with me soon after and is now the spoiled Celeste I love so much.

It's cat day.
I'll be picking up the little rascals later today if all goes well.
The house has already become a cat wonderland so actually getting cats at this point feels like the easiest thing.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

I hope you have enjoyed having soft furnishings in your house.

I am accepting that their time is limited.
I have a hell of a cat scratching post though... and perhaps it will extend the life of my sofa.

Potential for you to learn "the first rule of cats" here. If you buy it for your cat, they will not use it.

Not initially. I know this.
They hate the smell of newness and it has to become part of the furniture before they consider it.
I have cardboard boxes for them to sit in until they've adapted to their environment :)

New things are fine as long as they are things that you have bought for yourself, not for them.

Hah... cat psychology... they only want what you have, it's all theirs!

With this attitude, you're going to be fine!

Fabric would only drink from my glass of water for several years. Bowl on floor, no deal. Glass of water put down on table? Game on!

Just got two kittens (brothers) about 2 weeks ago, would recommend. They're at 14 weeks now. Sleeping, eating, pooping at the same time. (installed a Blink cam above the litterbox for poopalerts before it smells up the place)
Playtime is a delight. Happiness has increased in the house. We weren't prepared for the second one (impulse decision we're so happy with) so getting a new, 3x size litterbox today. (Camera will remain where it is, but battery usage is high)
Discovered zooplus, very good prices.

Ours like to drink from the tap.
Other option is to find a half empty glass on the kitchen table, tip it over with paw, drink some of resulting spillage.

Ours like to drink from the tap.
I've only purchased a bowl for now... but I did see a lot of fountains for cats.

Mine drink from my glass, the shower, any sink. Celeste will begrudgingly drink from her bowl if none of the above are available. Meabh is very keen to drink from the toilet but the seat is kept down, so her only chance is when someone is using the toilet, an opportunity she is sure that one day she will get.

Waily prefers to drink from the pond, the water that collects on top of the cold frame or from the water that collects in the creases of a compost bag.

Yeah ours either likes any dirty water in the garden, own glass (or other peoples) and seasonally from the Christmas Tree

We have a cat-specific water fountain which our cats both like to use - it has a filter which seems slightly pointless since they prefer dirty water like most cats.
