This is pretty much my view.
Luckily the delay in the works starting means that my wife will be back at work after mat leave and so we can save a little more vigorously during that period. I’d really not want it to cross through Christmas though!! -
Controversial counterpoint: just live with what you've got for now and do the work in 5yrs time.
