  • This lengthy profile of Jeremy Strong strongly suggests Kendall's character is (at least partly) based on ummm Jeremy Strong

    https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2021/12/13/on-succession-jeremy-strong-doesnt-get-the-joke

He seems to be an absolute arse

  • cold case hammarskjold on iPlayer is well worth a watch

  • A good friend is one of the key characters agent.

Jeremy Strong is meant to be pretty ‘method’ in his acting and described as incredibly intense so not surprised by the above.

  • ^^ I found it disappointing that they would investigate a case that was well over a year old.

  • There is a board game....

  • not the one you're thinking of either...

  • I think he’s an arse and the journo’s not much better.

Still it’s a great show and he’s great in it

  • Fuck you and your brilliant ability to able to image link....

  • Succession

Saw an ad for that last night and thought I should watch it coz it's got Michael Smiley / Tyres in it.

    Good then?

  • He’s not in it?

It’s Peep Show vs The Thick Of It x the Murdoch family as a Shakespearean tragi-comedy and with a vast HBO budget.

A story arc from last season to this season concluded with one character sending a dick pick to his dad in last nights episode. Possible spoiler.

  • Is he not? I swear it was him in the ad. Hmm

  • No, I remember now. There were two ads.

One had the Culkin brother in it and the other one was Ragdoll that I think had Tyres in it.

    Ragdoll: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14129418/

  • Woot, always sunny.

  • Good then?

Just watched s01e01 - is good.

  • Good then?

watched s01e01 ages ago - not bothered with any more.

edit: I also watched Game of Thrones and didn't like it, and gave up on Breaking Bad after 1 series, so I am not the zeitgeist of televisual audiences

  • Not seen GoT but did buy the boxset of Breaking Bad after it had finished and people stopped talking about it.

Watched half of 'The Outlaws' last night. Stretched Muppet's show about some crims doing cleanup and getting involved in shenanigans. Some funny bits, some tense bits. Will watch the rest tonight probs

  • You liked the wire though right... for the love of god tell us you liked it.

  • Dexter - New Blood.

Excellent so far (5 episodes in).

  • New series of Two Doors Down started last night. Superb as always.

  • We talked about 14 Peaks yet?
Surprisingly inspiring & quite nice to watch a documentary on Netflix that isn't about crime or negativity!

  • I'm trying to stick with it but my partner has already given up. I am kind of enjoying it but I don't know if I'm just forcing myself. Don't blame people for not being into it - I've read the books so know the details but just watching the show it's very hard to pick out character names or often work out why people are doing what they're doing!

I don't think they've got the pacing right yet - they rushed a bunch of stuff at the start then threw in a whole episode of filler for two pretty inconsequential characters.

  • It was so perfect.

Like Kendal, I catch myself feeling sorry for Shiv and then in the next scene she's a total cunt to Tom and I realise I keep falling for the most basic trickery.

  • Watched this at the weekend, the fact he climbed an 8000ft mountain with a hangover is ridiculous. Made me feel very inadequate and lazy.

  • Yeah I was hungover when watching it & it took all my effort just to get up & make another cup of tea!

Just has a great positive vibe & was refreshing to watch.
