What wood did you decide on? I need to replace ours and construction seems achievable with the tools and space I have already.

None, as everything was coming from a DIY shop, I was considering decking wood as it came with a 5 or 10 year guarantee...but reading the guarantee shows it isn't worth anything.
Looked at an ex display 40mm think door that I was going add to the sides to fit the space....but door sold by the time I'd umm and ahh.
At the mo I have a load of pallet and packing crate wood that I was thinking of making in to a gate.

If you can afford it I would use (and did) sapele

Would now be a good time to say I have built doors, for a garage..
Now I'm looking at building a gate.
So far I spent more time deciding on what would and trying to find places to buy the wood other than DIY places.
