    I think there are some contributors to this thread today who have the requisite skills ;)

    How big is this shed? 30+ sounds like a lot.

    Didn't Ali Dymock use something like 9 or 12 brick plinths? I thought the concrete tubes replaced those, so surely you're looking at a similar number.

  • I have no idea. I have aggregated some of the ground screw calculators to get to that number. Shed will likely be 18' x 12' and a lot of timber. Maybe.

    Edit: ground screws on 3ft centres would mean 35 screws. Not sure how you calculate for piers, especially if suspended off threaded bar on top as suggested.

  • Are you running joists at 12ft length rather than 18ft? You'd end up using a lot more joists that way.
    *A larger number of joists, not necessarily more wood, which could drive up the number of screws?

  • Sorry, I misread your comment. I thought you were saying for TW's cardboard tubes you'd need to dig 30 holes.
