  • We were recommended to have a fixed angled letter tidy for the inside for security. Stop chancers from being able to reach something up to the lock. SDS in Battersea have a huge range of door furniture and are nice to deal with.

  • We already ordered a flappy one, mainly as a draught excluder and to hide the bolts - wouldn't a flap serve the same purpose in making it harder to reach a lock?

Also, I bought a door brush this morning - £5.98 from Toolstation, and it has stopped a cold draught brilliantly, and also hides the untidy doorstep cover thing. In terms of home improvement per £, it's up there with foam strips for window sealing as one of the best things I've brought.

  • I bought a door brush too but ended up getting the whole door refurbished and they routed a groove in the underside to fit an integrated brush.

Re: the flap. Depends if it folds up out of the way I suppose. We bought a set of furniture from SDS that came with a flap and the guys doing the door said to go back and exchange it for a solid cover. I did that and they only charged me £4 difference. I personally think it looks nicer too.
