Yep, apologies. I thought tubeless ready = tubeless on clincher rims, but you will need sealant (unlike the original Hutchinson tubeless which sealed fine without), and then as a totally separate thing you had hookless.
But yeah, confusing. Looks like most tubeless ready are ok for both hooked and hookless, but depends on tyre and rim manufacturers. It’s all nonsense. They’ve clearly been watching the development of bottom brackets and we’re seeing a “hold my beer” moment
