Does anyone have any recommendations for stove top kettles.

I bought a Le Creuset one recently. Takes twice as long to convert 2l of water into steam than my electric Dualit does - but I think that is to be expected.

With an induction hob with a hefty boost mode the stovetop will probably be the same or quicker than an electric kettle.

I find them far less practical though as they don't just click off when boiled.
