Yes the bike does have it's original quill seatpost, and thanks for the tip. But I must say that I wouldn't like to personally mod a frame like this, especially an alloy one. If it was steel I'd consider taking to a frame builder for his advice/services. But besides this, it's nice to be able to keep as much as poss of the bike's parts original, plus there's the fact that to not have any kind of seatpost clamping arrangement sticking out gives the bike nice uncluttered lines in that area, and so adds to the overall stylish appearance it already sports:)
I presume the original quill seat post is present, therefore this is a steal at this price as you can cut&slot a seat clamp in and sell the part on evilbay for silly monies. GLWS
