Yeah apparently it's rude to eat on public transport too
Never saw anyone on the tube / local trains but on any of the Inter City trains, almost everyone does. Bento boxes are specifically sold on stations for just that reason.

Is that true?
I saw quite a lot of people eating outdoors in Japan but not necessarily walking down the street I guess.
Worried about how many people I might have offended based on the sheer number of onigiris I ate while walking on the pavement.
