I’m not sure about ever owning a vintage bike. Even the 60’s stuff, which is pretty standardized for the most part requires a lot of attention to keep going well. Pre-war bikes are unbelievably esoteric. There are no manuals so you basically need to become an expert in whatever bike you get to look after it, or get used to big bills and failures on the regular. It’s all a bit too masochistic if you actually like riding.
