I have one but never used… might try to
Thanks

Yeah do. I have a exposure diablo. To see around corners its essential. Then with the klite or the sixpack on the bars for normal riding along.

Has anyone ran LED strips or similar off their dynamo?
I remember reading or seeing something but I may also have just made it up

Trying to think of a connector to use for wiring that's better than those 2.5mm spade connectors which sometimes spontaneously disconnect. What about using a 3.5mm stereo audio plug/socket?meh, nevermind. No internal cabling faff so think I'll just hardwire the whole thing. -

Ah hah, bullet connector! I was searching for banana connectors and not finding much. Might give them a go, thanks for the tip. Dyna-snaps always the luxe option - not for this build.
-
• #4009
I'm sure there are Chinese knockoffs of the dyna-snaps, would just need some google-fu.

Dynam-snaps always come across as rather bulky compared to a pair of spades on the hub or a set of bullet connectors inline.

I’m planning on going to a dynamo setup for my commute. I’ve got hold of a SP PD-8X hub already. What’s the most cost effective front/rear setup for mostly urban commuting plus a a few short bits of unlit countryside road?
-

I got the edelux 2 with a matching rear from Spa for £164. Can’t recommend enough for similar sounding commute. In the unlit bits I really appreciate the light spread.

B+M IQ-XS is a good value option
The topline small rear light is pennies -

I picked up a SP PD-8X second hand, but it doesn't seem to output any power (tried existing lighting as already have a SV-9 & a multimeter).
Is this worth repairing? Does it need to go back to Taiwan for this as a bare hub? Or just bin it?

You can try and contact Ison who can fix it for you. If you cant be bothered to try and sort it out I’ll be interested in buying it - potentially!

Thanks. I'll contact Ison & see what they say, but I may well take you up on that. Be in touch my pm once I've heard from Ison...

Has anyone brought anything from bikester.co.uk?
They’re a german company with warehouses over here so still get some of that sweet euro discount, without the new brexit charges..Got a couple of lights in my basket and want to make sure they’ll actually arrive before Christmas..
-
• #4019
They are good. Have ordered a few thing from them. including dynamo lights. shipping was slow though.

My order arrived very quickly, but they sent me an IQ-X that had obviously been returned by someone else previously (scratched lens, wire had been cut, mount missing). My return arrived at their warehouse 5 days later but they didn't process it for 7 weeks, only once I'd chased up a few times.

thanks both, will put in the order this week, and keep my fingers crossed.

this questioned has been answered before, but hey, have an older supernova front light and about to pull the trigger on a B&M rear light. Will they work together? I'd rather not have to buy a supernova rear if possible.
This is the rear I'm looking at

• #4023
nope, you wont get a stand light
-
• #4024
does that matter?
Will it work whilst moving? -
• #4025
yeah should do, standlight yeah at lights etc
on brompton i didnt bother with rear light, its too low, just put an aliexpress light on saddle rail
Do you have helmet light? I use that a LOT on trails. In conjunction with a bat mount light, but id want the helmet first.
