I saw this on TV last night and assumed I must have missed something that implied they were both at fault in some way.

But no. WTF indeed.

This is what I wondered, I missed the start and asked my girlfriend if the driver had been indicating and the cyclist went up the inside and they were going for that angle. Seems not.
