it's been apparent for the last few seasons that the English based teams play a much better style of football than the classic European teams and they can't cope with it.
English footie has always been about high intensity but we seem to have added in the ability to keep the ball, pressing and high levels of skill.
This has carried over to the national team and hence our recent successes or at least final appearances rather than the disappointing failure to get out of the group that we normally experience.
it's quite exciting to be leading the world rather than playing catch up as has been the case for 30, 40, 50 years.
