Yes, insomuch as you need two knives for them. One to cut them open and another to add the spread otherwise the first gets so hot that the spread slips off on the way to the pita.
Correct kitchen etiquette is to use a bread knife for slicing, a butter knife for spreading and a jam spoon for dolloping. Just use more utensils.
Or, as my brother does, the same knife for all of it, licking it each time.
