I could never own a bicycle like this. I would just endlessly be reconfiguring it for the kind of riding I'd think I was going to do each day/month/week. Total headfuck - I need to KNOW what my bicycles are capable of.

Bike fiddlers dream. I'd rather have something decent for the riding I like

Why the fuck would I want to rebuild my bike every time I don't ride it?
-
• #21967
To be prepared for the next time you don’t ride it?
-
• #21968
But then I'd need to rebuild it for when I don't ride fixed instead of the gravel ride I just didn't go on.

I’ve never understood the whole “OMG multi size wheel option” thing, all those wheel tyre combinations have pretty much the same rolling circumstances. So…

That's kinda the point, will leave the bike in roughly the right place whilst giving you options over tyre width that's suited to what you want to ride. Trying to do that over 26"-700c and with rim brakes is fucking stupid though.

I have a set of 650B wheels with 47/50mm knobby tyres fitted and now, thanks to friendly neighbour, I have a set of 700C wheels with road tyres fitted. Takes couple of minutes to swap 'em. I think it's quite useful. Disc brakes, obvs.
