• I know this has already been asked but are there any decent centrelock rotors that anybody here can vouch for?

  • Buy a bunch from LB. They’re good, the rim will behave as designed and they’re inexpensive.

  • They cheap, made by Ashima, stop good, sacrifice themselves and leave yer carbon rims alone.

  • Thanks folks! Will use the LB ones to begin with. I think im going to keep to soft pads. I cant afford £500 on rims very often...

  • My LB 55mm rims were 6 years old last week

  • Sick. That makes me very happy. How much do you use the bike?

  • Summer riding from March to September pre-COVID was 1000km a month so conservatively they’ve done 20,000 km? That’s pretty mad.

  • I've put about 8k onto my LB rim-brake wheels and they're working pretty much as new

  • yes. LB rims are pretty hard wearing, and rim brake rims generally last longer thant the disc mob argue.
even if you needed to replace one rim at the cost of 160£ + some pads ? after a few years, the guy next door with discs will have bought one pair of rotors for 80£, more expensive pads and will have bought new 600£ wheels anyway ... twice : )

  • Speaking of LB, found out they'll do disc wheels for fixed or road. Could be tempted by a mini group order in a few months. ~592USD before shipping + tax.

  • perfect for light gravel!

  • they'll do disc wheels for fixed

Have they published details? For obvious reasons googling "light bicycle disc wheel" is a dead loss 🙂

  • Very little, sent me this link when I asked but gives very little away.

    https://intercom.help/light-bicycle/en/articles/5358629-tri-spoke-full-disc-wheels?utm_content=article_5358629

They mentioned a choice of 23mm or 25mm width. I'll ask for the "more detailed specifications."

  • Asked for details with diagrams, all I got was..

    they weigh 1300g+/-40.

  • Does anyone have a link for cantilever carbon forks with a 1 1/8th steerer?

  • Has anyone bought a battery replacement for Garmin from Aliexpress?

  • battery replacement for Garmin

Which garmin? I have a 500 that needs a new back cover, but the battery is good. You could cannibalise it.

  • thanks for the offer but I have 820 - in my understanding it is a different battery

  • Anyone tried one of these carbonworks knock-off cages?

  • Nah, I like to be able to fetch the bottle brutally

  • I got a battery replacement (for Garmin watch) from aliexpress, looks legit but never got to use it as when I finally took it apart it turned out the connector contacts broke off the mainboard. I purchased when I could charge the Garmin but as soon as I disconnected the battery went, thought it was dead but wasn't! Did mention it to Garmin but they wanted almost full price to repair....

  • Yep on my daily for about 6 months or so. No problems

  • I quite fancy one of these, £30 is a bit steep for something that's not well made... There is one with a front catch that looks a bit better

  • Does yours have the front catch and/or does the bottle pop out? I'd ask for a link but they never seem to stay long

  • That is my main worry, if you're not fetching your bottles brutally you're doing it wrong!

    @PhilDAS Cheers, good to know!

@thants I think it does have the front catch, you just cant see it very clearly in that picture
