  • Kind of miss that bike

  • @Maj Here's my MS bought from a forum member, it's a 56 and I'm bang on 6 foot. I think you could go either way and be happy just depends what kind of set up you're after. Toe overlap isn't an issue even with guards

The fit was the only thing I liked about mine...

  • Mine fits like a glove too, so much so it's my go to bike for anything long distance/touring.. Maybe you're just born with the wrong body proportions @amey ?

  • you are roadies, they/we are the worst

  • if a surly fits roadie because its long and low its a cosmic coincidence, they are not meant for you, they should be high and short

  • Surly + spacers = problem solved.

Just choose the one with the best compromise of geometry for your needs, adjust bar height with spacers (which is easy with the steel fork steerers they use) and don't get hung up on the way each size is named.

  • Amey was assembled at the Trek factory

  • but not in waterloo WI, in Taiwan where they make the H2 geo

  • Exactly this. I ride @Cupcakes old surly despite being a little taller overall. But with a nice 90 mm stem and a mega stack it’s just very enjoyable.

  • And a bit of me misses that CrossCheck! Glad it's still serving you well.

  • Anyone else having order delays on their Surly frames?

  • Mate. The whole world is having delays on every product out there…

  • Not really, but nice vagueness ;-)

  • Love that! Fat gravel bike!

  • Wonder what kind of bike he rides.

  • Planning to sell my cross check, 52cm, black, mostly complete.

If any one’s interested just drop me a pm

  • friend went into a prominent london surly stockist recently and was told they're not getting any more crosschecks? rumours of it being discontinued?

anyone heard anything of the sort?

they recently discontinued the pack rat (the other only good surly) and the rim brake trucker is gone(?)

rip to the real ones tbqh

  • all rim brake bikes need to die

  • SMH, out the trend setters..

    New tech can do one.

  • I heard they were either just offering a frameset or a bike, can’t remember which

  • I'd not seen this before. Looks like Surly had a prototype bike with a decent headtube a year or two ago. Doesn't seen to have made it to production yet
