    wtf is this sizing?

the 56 has the stack reach of a tiny ass bike, but the 58 is a true square 58?

if i want the 56 the headtube is no taller than a stack of pennies, but the 58 has a stand over which would not be ideal if one had to either willingly, but more dangerously, unwillingly dismount

pulling up the nerdy geo sites it's about the same size as my 58 kepler which was FINE a bit bigger than my old 2012 caadx

i mean the 58 should be fine

but why is the 56 so weirdly small????!?!?!!?

anyone who's about my height want to plug in on this please feel free

i've read so many old posts on other forums of people losing their mind over this exact thing

  • I'm 6' and I went with a 58 based on standover (I have a 32.5" inseam.)

Having owned a 58 and ridden my friends 56 quite a bit, for me it was down to riding style/position: If you wanna do more rowdy/offroad/aggressive stuff, go with a 56. For general use a 58 is probably better given the taller headtube so long as you can clear the standover.

  • I'm 1.80 metric metre like you and in my (disappointing, I must add) ) Surly experience I'd say go for the reach that suits you and expect more spacers than you'd have had with a more traditional geo.
Basically think of the TT being dropped down, more than the HT being short.

r u new to surly? All of their geo sucks. Mainly for spacer lovers.

  • Buy a pacer

  • My buddy rides a 56 and he’s a about 5’10.
