Interesting read. I don't know if it's covered elsewhere but there doesn't seem to be any question about why he had a bag with a knife in the boot or why he grabbed that as he was running away.

Yep, clearly went out again with a bag of weapons after getting home safely but still acted in self defence (in the moment, I guess) in the eyes of the jury.
