This is pure golf club thread fodder here but the thing that annoyed me about the Octavia was that 99% of them aren't specced with heated seats. It's not like I was looking at 20 year old cars. 3-4 years old, Octavia VRS, so it's the top version of it, no heated seats.
I also wanted a non FWD car after the 850R.

Funny thing about this is that here in Aus the vrs gets heated seats. Why? The sun already turns the leather into a hot skillet.

True story, the first time I sat on a heated seat was in that 850R. I probably am partly to blame for the lower price you got for it.

The Skoda hatch/sedan shape is great. Even the smaller Octavia has an enormous load space in the hatch. You almost don't need the estate.
Weirdly, Skoda superb 4x4 wagons seem to be more expensive on the used market than their Audi cousins down here in Aus.
