The danger of nationalisation, or its surrogate of imposing a duty on providers to do some supposed "essential public utility" work, is that we end up with the GPO, which took 6 months and a £118 hook up fee (about £400* in today's money) to install copper wire to your house.
*This might not seem too bad, but bear in mind that it was set artificially low to satisfy political demands that upfront cost should be affordable, and heavily cross-subsidised by very high monopoly rental and usage fees.

With the new world order and work from home, it would make sense to treat it like the others, and that I was available. Especially as it can take weeks to get internet fixed in the UK. When I came to Spain, I ordered movistat fibre online at 4am by 9am someone had been over and plugged the box in, and it was a Sunday. If it were like that then no issue.
