Talking of vans, I got a response from the Camper place:

Hi Dammit,

Many thanks for letting us know.
If you change your mind at any point, please advise and we’ll do what we can to secure a van as we have a good stock of pre-ordered vans scheduled for 2022.

Again – apologies that we’re unable to operate to our normal lead times currently.
To give you some idea of what the VW factory are running at due to COVID, vans ordered today will not be physical stock in the UK until 2023.

If they'd engaged a bit more I'd be happily waiting for the T6, is the sad thing from the whole experience.
