I’ve been looking at Skodas as an alternative to Audi A6 Avant - mainly because of the price. Could you give me some idea of the cost of the Skoda? PM if you wish. Thanks

I looked at Fabia VRs' for a while but read that the DSG gearboxes shat themselves significantly quicker than usual for reasons unknown

Gearbox issues are not something I would like. It’s a worry with some of the Audi ones too.

Often, people who don't buy them new, don't realise that the 6sp DSG is a wet clutch. This means it needs servicing and fluid changes at strict intervals. Miss an interval and that gearbox is going to die.
