Oh for sure, though I'd definitely put him a level below Alonso/Kimi/Hamilton/Vettel, more on the Webber/Rosberg level.
Though to be fair that may well just have been because he didn't have a decent stint in a championship winning car (though I guess he did fare relatively well alongside Hamilton at McLaren).

I think Button was a superb driver and a more than worthy champion.I've just checked my old posts and I was always nice about him.
(late-career Massa, on the other hand, I evidently didn't have much time for. And 8 years ago I predicted Hamilton could better Schumacher if he put the work in, but then spoiled it by claiming he wouldn't!)

From memory, the only person "on 'ere" who doubted JB's talent was @bq. He's a former world champ who didn't need to win by using nefarious means which makes him alright IMHO
