  • What are peoples thoughts on camper vans? Especially the deluge of VW Transporters.

    Other than flying, these things have to be the most wasteful, antisocial way of traveling. Most of the UK has permanent infrastructure for accommodation: water, power, shelter. Burning fuel to carry this with you for no reason is mind-blowing. Just so you can go somewhere slightly more remote / unspoiled and fuck it up.

    A recent trip to the Isle of Arran really brought this home, normally quiet single track roads rammed with the things, strewn with roadkill, birdsong drowned out, small villages and towns gridlocked. Ugh.

  • As a frequent visitor to rural rural Scotland for work I agree fuck them and the Instagram cunts who have them.

    Also fuck Nicola Sturgeon for encouraging it.
