Perfect, yeah reckon we can get a good turn out! Maybe advertise on wanker bikes as well. Got to find a pub south? Of the river that will accommodate our two wheeled objects

I would ask why you're getting a DT shifter on a flat bar bike but I assume the answer begins with "It's he" and ends with "shhhhhhhh"

C'mon, it's obviously going onto a Paul Thumbie

Just want kind of cheugy, utilitarian, fbnpna but kinda radavist, Brexit tourer, London bike with gears
The pomp was close… so close… but want… gears
Want to not spin everywhere
Want to not have to do a cardio workout to keep up with pals
But also Want to get up hill

I still think this is pretty rad. What about a gear hub?
-
• #1668
Hub gears are very useful and utilitarian, but sadly hot people don't ride them so Maj won't countenance.

Reflecting on yesterday’s ride it was lovely
First time I had seen some friends since pre lockdown, let alone ridden with them, Naomi had done a quick route in and out of Cambridge to take in some bridal path, double track and a shooting range
It all culminated in coming back through the dna path and the busway, not forgetting to stop for a mess about on the skatepark and pulling into bicycle ambulance to chat bikes enthusiastically with fresh tripe owner sam. He was rubbing his hands to see such juicy victims deliver themselves to his door.
By the end of the day I was feeling very grateful for these people, I mean not only to bunk off work on a Thursday, but generally to be reminded of how genuinely great they are. I don’t think I’ve ever been on a bad ride with this group, supportive and understanding of my needs, great patter, good routes and knowing all the best food stops.
The bike preformed admirably but the gearing was too heavy, yet I found myself constantly spinning. It was quite the workout, But I wouldn’t change it, I simply just would not use this bike for cross country riding. Or rather I am not fit for single speed cross country even in the flattest of counties.
I need something with gears for the new year, Naomi and I were already scheming for the next trip, overnighter? Day trip? Coffee run?
whatever it is I’m sure it will be good

Probably not what you wanna hear when all excited about buying a new bike, but why not buy a chain tug derailleur hanger
And keep the pomp?

My money is on a Surly Ice Cream Truck, based on the half remembered comment that 40c wasn't wide enough...
Yes! lets doot, lets all take the bike chat off the net and into the real world
