Sorry , late response, but looking for a replacement bolt for my bagman support. Tried Carradice but radio silence. Anyone know what spec it is?
I found some email messages didn't arrive into their customer service inbox and I had to try a couple of times to get through. You could try re-sending the message or telephoning them directly.

Any chance of seeing a kit list, or a close up of the rear bag?
I'm torn between a new Super C or a Long Flap (if it's a long flap then I'll ask them to use nylon straps and buckles)

The saddlebag looks huge, I guess you needed the shock cording to stabilise the load.
That is a neat mounting of your rear mudflap. How was this done without drilling the mudguard?

Tempory fix for riding with a buddy (strong gaffa), been meaning to fix properly but had just been commuting on the recently acquired bike.
Yep I normally loop the webbing straps through the rack on my old SuperC to tie the bag down securely) but the RSF longflap has been made with much shorter adjustment avail (presumably because of the longflap) so a bungee seemed sensible when fully extended.

Hah ummm
Just realised I actually relied on my buddy’s trangia (we only cooked one meal, just after this photo above Hebden Bridge). So I fibbed a bit. 900g Terra Nova 1pers tent, poles long version so strapped to rack, very small Alpkit sleeping bag that packs to about the size of a kilo of flour, silk liner, inflatable mat that’s about the size of a bean tin. A paramo warm/rain jacket, + wax cotton cape (mostly for sitting on), small trainers for raving the next night in Manc, some clothes, spare warm hat (I always travel with a spare dry hat), quite a bit of food on board, firstaid & toothbrush, loo roll & trowel. -

Good news. I tried emailing again and got a prompt response that the bolt is being sent first class post.

I also had very good communication with them for a replacement part.

If it’s the bolt that holds the rails to the saddle fitting, Carradice used a grub screw. The better option used to be a mudguard stay bolt or bottle cage bolt as kept in boxes in just about every bike shop. You can’t get the grub screw tight enough but the ordinary bolt (m4x15mm) is a much better fix.

mudguard stays and water bottle cage bolts are m5 however.

I’m glad you pointed that out hopefully before the wrong bolts were purchased!

Apologies for not reading through all the 80 pages of this thread.
Picked up one of the RSF Kickstarter vegan Super C Long Flap.
What's the recommended method of mounting it from a 34.9mm diameter seat post? -
• #1991
Whinge at them for supplying really short fire-hose straps! I've found it problematic at the saddle when attaching to a sprung saddle, could do with longer straps to wangle them through the springy bits..
Oh wait are you trying to attach to something other than your saddle rails/loops (and seat pin strap)?

Thought I was meant to use a bit of bent/twisted steel to act as a support
to prevent the Super C drooping down onto mudguard when loaded. -

Mine sits on a Bagman mount, is that what you mean?
-
• #1994
Sorry I thought you were commenting that your sway strap won't go 'round your seat post.
Bagmans attach to your saddle rails with a clamp, you need about 12mm rail spare behind your seat clamp to attach. So not dependent on your seat post diameter though.

A Bagmzn mount is best way to do it. You've got two choices, one comes with a quick release so you can disengage it speedily from the saddle ras or tge other, slightly cheaper version, which is permanently attached.
If you're interested in the latter I've got a spare but I'm unwilling to give up the Bagman Sport with the quick release just in case I ever go touring again.

I have the same bag, doesn’t mount good with the QR, if you have saddle loops use them and the latter option. I mean it work but the distance from QR to support is too short so you have to squeeze it down. I’m thinking about a restuvus and a Nitto R14

Agree in parts with you but I have been able to get a week's supplies in for my last touring style holiday. Even the vertically challenged Mrs NLL was able to load a Longflap onto the Bagman Sport for a week. For me and her its great as it means we can take our road bikes and once we've arrived at our destination jettison the luggage and have speedy wheels in preference to our tourers/winter bikes.

Just celebrated the new year by ordering a Cadet from SJS.
Should fit my new laptop in, for university commuting duties.
One day....

Noted I'd not mentioned there are 2 sizes of Bagman Support. I'm OK with the standard size but there is a smaller drop one for those who are vertically challenged so have significantly less room on saddle to wheel drop. My partner, Mrs NLL to give her a proper name, has XS frames on bikes and is even better suited to a 650c,wheel size, frame as she is only a little above 5ft so hasn't good space for the full depth of a standard drop Bagman. I'll stop before I repeat myself!!!

Any real world experience with the Velo Orange saddle loops on here? I currently have Voile straps around the saddle rails but I wouldn’t mind a bit of clearance between bag and saddle.
